A token to the endless adventures of a camper van.

Project Description
As the the 2019 school year came to an end, a friend reached out looking for someone who could help spice up their new caper van. I was given a blank canvas and the creative freedom to create a mural that would go on to explore the wild west. Since my friend would be traveling mostly alone, I didn’t want the final piece to draw too much attention. It should be unnoticeable at a quick glance, but visually interesting once the viewer discovered the mural. From the start, I knew I wanted each side to be unique and represent something meaningful. With the help of Cheyenne Smith, I created a mock up of the van and began creating design concepts. After a handful of iterations, our design was approved. In order to transfer our illustration to the van, I created a grid of rectangles templates that could be individually laser cut and placed on the van. With some help, we traced the all the templates onto the van, and began to tape it up. After the entire van was taped, we moved on to spray painting it with multiple coats of silver and finished it off with a clear lacquer.
